Days of Our Lives actor Cody Longo has died at the age of 34.
The dead body of the soap star is said to have been discovered by authorities on Wednesday in bed at a residence in Austin, Texas, TMZ reports.
Per the report, Longo’s wife Stephanie became concerned about his whereabouts and had called police for a welfare check when they later discovered him dead.
The actor is known for briefly playing the character Nicholas Alamain on the popular soap in 2011.
His wife works at a local dance studio and became concerned when she couldn’t reach her husband, who is believed to have battled alcohol abuse.
Authorities arrived at the scene and kicked down the door when Longo didn’t answer. They found him deceased in the bedroom.

A family member told TMZ that the actor had struggled with alcohol abuse for many years and had recently gone to rehab.
An official cause of death has not yet been revealed.
His wife reportedly told the site: ‘He was an amazing father and the best husband. Our whole world is shattered.’
The actor is survived by his wife, a daughter, seven, a son, five, and one-year-old baby boy.

Longo, who was born in Littleton, Colorado on March 4, 1988, began his career in the entertainment industry by appearing in several music videos before he made his film debut in the 2008 feature Ball Don’t Lie.
He subsequently appeared on the small screen for the first time during an episode of Medium that aired the following year.
The late performer went on to appear in supporting roles in various features over the following years, including Fame and Bring It On: Fight to the Finish.
The actor later made several appearances as Nicky Russo in the teen drama series Make It Or Break It.
Longo appeared as Nicholas Alamain in eight episodes of Days of our Lives, all of which aired in 2011.
The character’s part had previously been filled by Erik von Detten and Victor Webster.
The performer was also featured in two episodes of CSI: NY that aired that same year.
The late actor’s longest-running role was on the family drama series Hollywood Heights, which both premiered and concluded in 2012.

Following the program’s conclusion, the actor appeared in several small television roles in shows such as Nashville and Secrets and Lies.
He was also featured in numerous movies after the show was cancelled, including Rich Boy, Rich Girl, The Last Movie Star and Death House.
Longo’s most recent appearance in a film was in Starting Up Love, which was released in 2019.
The actor also lent his voice to the 2020 Apple Podcast series High School Crimes & Misdemeanors.
That same year, however, he was arrested on a domestic assault charge after he reportedly had a fight with his wife.
In 2021, Longo pled guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge after he was charged with sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl.
