Hollywood publicist Doris Bergman reportedly died at the age of 68 on Wednesday alongside her 65-year-old husband Albert Sassoe Jr and their cat.
The fire took place in the early morning. A 911 call was made by cell phone from inside the residence, but the call cut off before enough information was shared to the dispatcher.
The fire department tracked down the call and went to the house, which was already ablaze. The couple and their pet were found dead.
Bergman often hosted Oscar gifting suites with Jane Lynch, Marilu Henner, Esai Morales, Brigitte Nielsen and Judd Nelson as guests, and she also worked with George Lopez on his annual golf classic event.
Her longtime pal, fashion designer Sue Wong, confirmed the news of Bergman’s death on her Facebook page where she called the publicity expert a ‘good friend.’

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the incident was reported around 2.20am.
LAFD spokesperson Brian Humphrey explained to the site that the call from the house ‘disconnected’ before the situation could be determined.
The site added that the fire was ‘intense’ and that the center of the blaze was in the kitchen and living room.
‘In searching the premises, firefighters located a man, woman and pet cat lifeless inside the burnt home. Beyond medical or veterinary assistance, they were determined to be dead at the scene,’ Humphrey said.
The LAFD said the home did not have operational fire sprinklers.
According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, the victims were Sassoe and Bergman.
The coroner has not yet determined the specific cause, time and manner of their death, the site added.

Doris’ friend Sue Wong took to Facebook to share a tribute.
‘I’m beyond devastated to find out just right now that my good friend Doris Bergman perished yesterday in an incendiary consuming fire along with her husband, Albert, and their pets,’ she wrote.
China native Sue added that their house was ‘completely ablaze.’
Wong shared that she had last spoken to Doris last weekend.
Sue noted that the Doris had sounded ‘rather delusional and hallucinatory probably from pain pills and was perhaps very over-medicated.’
She added: ‘She told me that she was lying on the floor and couldn’t sit up because her back and shoulders went out.
‘She asked me when the two massage therapists were coming over to treat her that I was sending and that would I be performing a tea ceremony with them? Honestly we had never talked about any such thing.’
Wong went on to say she was completely saddened by this loss: ‘We had a good mental and intellectual bond.’
She then went on to say she will miss Bergman’s ‘great sardonic wit, her intelligence, her generosity of spirit and her wicked sense of black, dark humor.’
